Puttering out...

Today just about tuckered this gal out.  Rich has been gone the last three nights at work and Improv, so I've been burning the candle at both ends (& shamelessly bumming free childcare off my family when it gets to be too much). This morning Ry and I started out by heading off to preschool, and then...
He begged to hit up Macy's again...so what else could I do?  The boy loves to shop.
Just kidding.  But we really did go to Macy's and a few other stores so we could get some birthday and Christmas gifts...because tonight was my brother Jon's 40th birthday!  Well, technically it's not until a few days before Christmas, but because Mika and the boys are always in Japan at that time, we celebrate both his birthday and Christmas early every year before they leave.
We gave Jon the snazzy gift in the Cars gift bag. Clearly not a re-gifted gift bag.  Nope!
As soon as we got home from shopping, I was busy wrapping gifts, slicing up fruit for a platter and making Jon's birthday cake...a Christmas tree!
Since 40-year old's have a reduced lung capacity and tend to get out of breath easily, he had a few helpers.
After Jon's birthday, we smoothly transitioned right into Christmas!  Rich had to run to Improv class, so Ryan got to open his gift from Aunty Kathy & his cousins first so that daddy could watch him open it (& assemble it...since mama don't go there).
At this moment, he has just been told he is being given his own refrigerator...he is thrilled!
And at this moment, I think he realized (like his parents) that he's not wearing any pants...again.  ;-)
The exact moment when we opened the box and he realized it was not a refrigerator...  Seriously, the kid was so happy to get his own refrigerator I think the car was almost a let down!
Cliche, but oh so true- they loved the box more than the car!
What's up  ladies?  Wanna take a ride with Ry Money?  I got some juice boxes and goldfish crackers in the trunk!
So it's 10pm, and I'm officially all tuckered out.  Not everyone celebrates a birthday and Christmas on the same night...just us and Jesus.  ;-)
