Surprise!!!

Today my mother staged a fun treasure hunt for the three boys, with the final clue telling them that they are taking them to Southern California tomorrow for a little over a week of non-stop theme park fun (I will be tagging along). We'll be hitting Disneyland twice, California's Disney Adventure Park, Universal Studios, Legoland, the San Diego Zoo & Sea World.
Mid-treasure hunt, searching for the next clue...
I thought our last trip back in Dec/Jan was crazy, but this trip sounds even more exhausting (my father is like the Energizer bunny on the road...he never stops). I gently suggested a break mid-trip to just zen out one day...recenter...regroup...rest...and was flatly denied by the two senior citizens.  So when I just can't take another minute of the crowds and chaos, I will make a concerted effort to find a quiet, shaded area in the park, sit down under a tree, close my eyes, cross my legs...and unwrap a giant, sugar-covered churro and stuff it down my throat.  Ahhh...all better.

PS- A few minutes after we told the boys about the trip, Riki (who was clearly in a celebratory mood) busted out this smooth (hula) move that he learned at school.  I was so proud of him that I asked him to do it again so I could record it. Say what you want about public schools in Hawaii, but no where else in the country are they learning amazing stuff like this in second grade!  Imua Hawai'i nei!
