Day 6 - Madrid's Las Ventas Plaza de Toro!

Ladies & Gentleman...I present to you, Spain's newest, most fierce, tantalizing matador ever...El-Ryan!!!
We spent the our last full day at Spain's famous Plaza de Toros (bull fighting ring).
The architectural detail of the ring was an enviable sight.

Since it was not currently the regular bull fighting season, we only saw a few off-season matches inside the arena (seats over 33,000 when full).
This young bull was particularly frightening.
This one gored the foolhardy matador.
Luckily, El-Ryan was available for photos in the gift shop shilling his latest clothing line.
One of the elaborate (think Liberace) attire worn by famous matadors (complete with dried blood all over them as seen in the museum).
On our way back to our hotel, it rained, but how sad could you be when the city still looks like this (see below)? Winding, narrow-cobble stone streets nearly litter-free, filled with friendly and helpful people, spectacular eats and beautiful buildings. Plus, they don't get going until around 10am each day, and they siesta! Ole! Brilliant! :-) Madrid is a city I hadn't expected to fall in love with, but did.

Gracias, Madrilenos!
