Splurging at 40+

A month or so ago, round one of "S**t keeps breaking' began, with the death of my year old laptop, Prius AC compressor and our fridge compressor. I believe there was also a stackable washer/dryer in the mix too. All the breaking/malfunctioning happened over a 5-6 day period, but we managed to rally and recover. Sadly...this week appears to have kicked off round two! Our DVR recorder, a 5-year old refrigerator in one of our condos and a passenger window in my car all went kaput. And when I called to schedule a service appointment for the car I've had for >2 weeks, I was told my certified, pre-owned car's 1 year warranty 'might not cover that.' I politely disagreed, and then quickly got off the phone, because why argue with customer service? I dare them to tell the old Chinese lady with lots of broken sh*t she has to replace that her 'new' car repair isn't covered under the bumper to bumper warranty. I dare you. Sh*ts gonna get real.

Because of all the repairs and renovations, I've been on my very best spending behavior lately. Suze Orman would be beaming at me. She might even give me a high five, or a hug!

Thankfully, I don't have to take out my wallet when I buy stuff on Amazon. You order stuff you want, and then it appears a few weeks later! It's magic! (And I'm pretty sure it's all free). So I recently felt justified going on a tiny spending spree for stuff I need when I came into some extra work hours. (I also love that my purchases paint me out as an aging, constipated, roadside construction worker with bad skin):

For old ladies with broken bodies

For old ladies who still break out like a pimply, hormonal teenage boy

For old ladies that still don't quite get enough fruits/veggies in their diet, and want a fast/lazy solution

For the early AM runs out on the road. It's nice to be seen from a few hundred yards away, versus crumpled up on a bumper
I'm actually thrilled to get all of these items, and am hopeful they'll all help get me to the finish line in January. :-)
