Day 10 - Sodermalm

After a breakfast of French Toast, fruit and cheese, we walked back through Gamla Stan to another island nearby called Sodermalm. Our hope was to find a scenic view of Gamla Stan from there, but first- we had to stop at one of my favorite stores- Lush. They never fail to have the most amazing bath bombs, and my nieces are all about those these days.

Crossing over to Gamla...
Enjoying fresh squeezed orange juice (in hindsight, I should have used that money to buy an orange orchard instead, as it was about the same price). :-(

The view of Gamla Stan from the bridge, crossing over to Sodermalm
It was a short, but steep trek to find a scenic point of Gamla...

Once at the top, we found a gravel path meant to be a viewing point with 180-degree views of Gamla Stan...

Part of the hike up to the path (we did it twice, once as a scouting mission, and again right after we located it, as we didn't want to tire my mother out).

Lunch was in Gamla, in a cellar that was hundreds of years old. I will defer from mentioning the name of the restaurant, but let's just say that anytime the bathroom code is printed on the bottom of your receipt, it's probably not too fancy.

Crossing back into Gamla always had a large wild swan and gull population, so this time, we'd brought bread to feed them.

After the feeding that never got old for Ryan...we strolled over to King's Garden and found heaps of snow. It wasn't clean, it wasn't fresh...but do you think Ryan cared?

Not one bit.

And he got to end the day with his favorite activity of course, as the large park with it's wide open sidewalks offered a safe area for Ryan to zip around!
