One of my favorite books as a teen was Flowers in the Attic, and the series it spawned. It was pretty twisted, but imaginative and captivating to someone growing up on a small island. Although there is none of the inheritance, incest or trauma of the Dollanganger family, nor the poisoned donuts...we are definitely as stuck on an island as they were in the attic.
If I'm being realistic, I don't see us going anywhere for a few years...so I'm very thankful we have pretty special place to enjoy while we're in relative isolation/quarantine from the rest of the world.
